Your Rights as a Conversation Participant

What to know when someone uses Auvi near you

Last updated: 31 March 2026

Someone near you is using Auvi to transcribe speech to text.

No audio is being recorded. No data is being sent to any server. This page explains what is happening and what your rights are.

What is happening

Speech is being transcribed to text in real-time on the other person's device. This means their device is converting spoken words into written text as the conversation happens.

Is my data being saved?

By default, no. Transcribed text exists only in temporary memory and disappears completely when the session ends. Once the person stops transcribing or closes the app, the text is permanently gone.

If the user has enabled Save Transcripts (an optional setting that is off by default), a text-only record is stored locally on their device. Even in this case:

Your rights

Under data protection laws (including GDPR), you may have the right to:

How to exercise your rights

They can do all of this within the app. Creative Machines cannot help with these requests because we have no access to any transcription data – it never leaves the user's device.
